Immigration Division & Immigration Appeal Division - IRB

The Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB) is Canada’s largest independent administrative tribunal. It is responsible for making well-reasoned decisions on immigration and refugee matters, efficiently, fairly and in accordance with the law. 

The Immigration Division (ID) of IRB conducts Detention Reviews and Admissibility Hearings to decide on Inadmissibility decision by an Immigration Officer during an Examination. The Immigration Appeals Division(IAD) of IRB is for appeal of a negative family Sponsorship decision, or a Removal Order decision from the ID, or by the Examining Immigration Officer.
